Business Strategy alignment

Many leadership teams are not considering IT roadmap as a key element of their strategy.

I usually encourage IT business partner to use workshops and interviews as a way to gather the different business leaders needs; then during the business vision workshop they can gather any additional asks and submit a list for prioritization at the end of the workshop with some additional components such as complexity and high level efforts evaluation.

As IT business partner role will expand in the organization, data-driven decision can be more and more accurate and help with expectations definition.
